Austin-area single-family home sales hit a record-breaking high in 2015 according to the most recent Market Report from the Austin Board of Realtors® (ABoR).

The report's findings indicate that, "29,068 single-family homes were sold in the Austin area in 2015, a 5% increase from 2014 and an all-time high for Austin-area home sales."

The increased sales have resulted in higher median and average selling prices for single-family homes. The median price of $263,900 is 9% higher than it was in 2014 and the average price of $333,558 is up 8% from 2014.

While there was also a 5% increase in single-family home listings on the market in 2015, the Austin-area inventory is still too low to meet buyer demand, making now the most profitable time to sell.
